The gene expression profile of methotrexate-resistant JAR cells

Choriocarcinoma is a rare and aggressive malignancy. Although multi-agent chemotherapy is the standard treatment, resistance to anticancer agents remains a significant clinical challenge. In this study, we investigated the gene expression profile of choriocarcinoma cells with acquired resistance to methotrexate (MTX) using mRNA sequencing. Overall design: MTX-resistant JAR cells were established by continuous stepwise exposure to increasing concentrations of MTX. The cells were initially cultured in 10 nM MTX, and the concentration was gradually increased over several months. Total RNA was then extracted and subjected to mRNA sequencing.
