Fibroblast-specific reduction of heparan sulfate suppresses pancreatic cancer growth in mice

we examined how HS-reduced fibroblasts are involved in the proliferation of pancreatic cancer by using mice in which Ext-1 expression is specifically suppressed in fibroblasts. We prepared mouse pancreatic cancer (Pan02) cells. We transplanted the cells to wild type (Control) and Ext1 flox/flox; S100a4-Cre mice (Mutant) (N=4 each). We removed the developing tumors from mouse subcutaneous area 36 to 40 days later and extracted RNA from whole tumors. Finally, we performed RNA microarray analysis.
