In this work, we show that the antiproliferative effect of an extract from different LAB and Bifidobacteria, mainly composed of cytoplasmic metabolites (polar and with low molecular mass), hampers growth of a tumoral cell line by exerting a toxic effect and arresting the cell-cycle.
