Cardiomyocyte Soluble Guanylyl Cyclase is Necessary for Estrogen Cardioprotection Against Capillary Rarefaction in Right Ventricular Pressure-Overload Remodeling

Right ventricular (RV) dysfunction increases mortality rates of heart failure and pulmonary hypertension. Yet women with RV dysfunction survive longer than men. This sexual dimorphism is attributed to estrogen, but mechanistic details remain unclear. We hypothesized that cardiomyocyte soluble guanylyl cyclase (cm-GC1) mediates sex-specific RV pressure-overload remodeling. These data represent single nucleus RNA sequencing of right ventricles derived from cardiomyocyte specific knockout of GC1 and/or pulmonary artery banding.
