Caste-disaggregated estimates from the NSS Comprehensive Modular Survey: Telecom, 2025: code and derived tables
收藏资源简介:
Analysis code and derived tables for a set of caste-disaggregated estimates computed from the public unit-level records of the National Sample Survey's Comprehensive Modular Survey: Telecom, 2025 (34,950 households; 142,065 persons). The survey's own published outputs contain no table disaggregated by social group. The package computes weighted prevalence, with design-corrected confidence intervals clustered on the first-stage unit, for seven digital tasks by social group; a stacked person-item logistic model testing whether the caste gap is uniform across tasks; weighted logistic regressions with controls for consumption, sex, sector and age; a linear probability model of fixed-line connectivity with first-stage-unit fixed effects; and caste-by-sex interactions. It also contains a record of what six Indian national surveys collect and publish by social group, compiled by reading each full published report. The unit-level survey data are not redistributed here. They belong to the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation, Government of India, and are distributed through the Ministry's microdata portal. See data/README_data.md for the columns used and how to obtain the files. The associated research article is under peer review; its reference will be added to this record on publication.
