资源简介:
Black and white lantern slide showing four Nyasaland villagers standing outside a mud and thatched hut. One woman is wearing a "chitenje" over her skirt, a wrap which can be used as an apron, a sling for a baby, or to carry items from place to place. She stands next to three men in caps, shirts and wraps around their waists. The woman wears a necklace and multiple bracelets. Single bracelets can be seen on the left wrists of the two men in the centre of the picture. Two of the men wear white caps, or kufi, worn by African Christians, Muslims and Jews. This slide comes from a set on the activities of the King’s African Rifles battalions in Nyasaland. It was originally held by the Church of Scotland, and generated by J.W MacKay.
