Sheep intestinal organoids

Sheep are natural hosts of globally important intestinal zoonotic pathogens, and intestinal infections are a major threat to animal health and productivity. Among other things, interactions between pathogens and intestinal epithelial cells play a key role in intestinal infections. However, the lack of physiologically relevant in vitro infection models has severely limited the study of such interactions. Therefore, we established sheep intestinal organoids from intestinal tissue, specifically from the jejunum.
