Microbial sequencing data from the study of Lily polysaccharides alleviating colitis through the microbiota/N8AS/cGAS-STING signaling axis

This study investigates the therapeutic effects of lily polysaccharides (LP) in treating DSS-induced ulcerative colitis (UC), a type of inflammatory bowel disease. As the colon harbors the highest density of intestinal microorganisms, it is particularly sensitive to microbiota-associated dysregulation during colitis. To assess whether LP modulates gut microbial composition, we analyzed the intestinal microbiota in DSS-induced colitis mice following LP treatment, using colonic contents. Our results showed that LP supplementation alleviated symptoms like weight loss and intestinal inflammation, restored microbial homeostasis, and promoted beneficial bacteria such as Bacteroidetes.
