资源简介:
Resources in MDL 303 occur on both sides of the north-northwest trending Isaac Fault. Potentially economic coal in MDL 303 West occurs within the Leichhardt seam and Vermont Lower seam of the Rangal Coal Measures. The Leichhardt seam is 2m thick at the southern boundary of MDL 303 West but thins and deteriorates rapidly to the north to less than 1m of shaly coal. The Vermont Lower seam, which is located 43m to 75m below the Leichhardt seam in MDL 303 West, is typically 3.5m to 4.5m thick, but splits into two thin, lower quality seams in the north-western corner of the MDL.
The major regional structural feature in the area is the Isaac Fault, a north-northwest trending, east side up thrust fault, with throws in excess of 200m, which separates the relatively undisturbed sediments of the Western block (MDL 303 West) from a complex zone of folded and faulted sediments.
Extensive exploration primarily for underground development in MDL 303 West was undertaken over the past 12 months with the aim of raising resources in MDL 303 West to Measured status. The program was nearing completion as of the anniversary date of the tenement and resources will be updated over the next 12 months,
The resource estimate for the part of MDL 303 east of the Isaac Fault (MDL 303 East), was updated in 2019-2020 to include the results of new drilling, as well as downdip data obtained as a result of a data swap with Peabody, which holds the tenements to the east of MDL 303 East.
