资源简介:
"On February 13th [1929] some of the members of the [IFLA] Executive Committee met at the International Institute of Intellectual Cooperation in Paris on the occasion of a meeting of the Expert Committee of Librarians in of the International Committee of Intellectual Cooperation. An invitation to this meeting had been sent out by M. Lemaître, president of the French Association of Librarians. At the meeting MM. Collijn, Fago, Godet, Henriot, Krüss and Sevensma attended. Mr. Fago gave some information about the forthcoming World Congress of Libraries and Bibliography, and the list of Congress sections was discussed. The number of sections was definitely augmented to sixteen." [Actes du comité international des bibliothèques, v. 1, p.35]” Note: The Expert Committee of Librarians/Committee of Library Experts/Committee of Expert Librarians (its name occurs in various forms) was a formal committee of the International Committee (sometimes Commission) of Intellectual Cooperation of the League of Nations. The Institute in Paris served as its secretariat, and most of the committees of interest [to IFLA] met there. The 1929 Congress and the one that followed in 1935 were mostly known as the world congress (congrès Mondial). Because the main language of the League (and of IFLA to some extent) was French, and the names of bodies such as committees were translated and then back and forth in the various documents, there is a lot confusion regarding their names.
