资源简介:
This dataset contains raw responses collected for the development and validation of a new psychometric instrument named TOMCAT (Tom's Online Gambling Compulsive Addiction Test). The study aims to measure problematic online gambling behaviors among the Indonesian adult population.
1. Data Collection Methodology:
Data collection was conducted in two phases to overcome challenges related to the sensitive nature of the topic:
a. Phase 1 (Online): Conducted via Google Forms (January 14–18, 2025). This phase yielded limited responses (n=22) due to the high social stigma associated with gambling in Indonesia.
b. Phase 2 (Offline): To ensure sample adequacy, the distribution was shifted to offline methods until February 25, 2025.
c. Final Sample: The total raw respondents were 318. After data curation and cleaning using Winsteps (Rasch Model analysis) to detect misfit responses, 236 participants were retained for the final analysis.
2. Participant Characteristics:
a. Criteria: Indonesian adults (18+ years old) who have engaged in online gambling within the last 12 months.
b. Demographics: Age range 18–53 years (Mean = 26.34; SD = 7.33).
3. Variables and Coding Information:
The dataset includes the following variables. Please note that while "Sex" is numerically coded, other demographic variables are presented in their raw categorical or numerical format.

1 = Never, 2 = Rarely, 3 = Occasionally, 4 = Sometimes, 5 = Often, 6 = Very often, 7 = Every day.

c. Sex: Coded as 1 = Male, 2 = Female.
