The article discusses rotating joints (RJs), which are an integral part of mechanically scanned antennas. The frequency and energy characteristics of the antenna system depend on the RJs. Therefore, the article considers various RJ designs. The variety of RJ designs is due to the area of application of the radio system. As the literature review shows, RJs of various types are used in radar antenna systems and satellite communication systems. A promising direction is the modernization of RJs in order to improve tactical and technical characteristics. Currently, there is an intensive development of microwave technology, as well as the improvement of materials and technologies. The emergence of new designs of exciters also allows improving the characteristics of the devices in which they are used. The article considers a rotary device excited by various types of scalar mode exciters.
