Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) images, newer images paired with text metadata files, of Guadua foliage leaves and floral bracts

This data set contains scanning electron microscopy images of the foliage leaves and floral bracts of Guadua specimens used in the study "Foliage leaf and floral bract micromorphology vary by habitat and habit in Guadua (Poaceae: Bambusoideae: Bambuseae)". Images were taken by Elizabeth K. McMurchie from 2021 to 2023 and Lynn G. Clark in the late 1980s-1990s. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) images were used to examine the foliar and floral bract micromorphology of individual specimens of Guadua belonging to different species, with the presence or absence of various features noted for study. Also included in this repository is an spreadsheet file containing information about each specimen.
