Minutes of meeting: IFLA Regional Council, 9 March 2023

Items discussed at the eight Regional Council meeting include updates from the Regional Council Chair and the Professional Council Chair, Governing Board updates, and Regional Division Committee Updates. Furthermore, a discussion took place about WLIC 2023 and specifically on updates about the plans for regional hubs and planning for regional sessions during WLIC 2023. Subsequently, effective working practices were discussed, especially meeting practices, communications, emerging leaders and sub-groups. Regarding planning for the Committees' transition, discussion took place about how to support the induction of the next Regional Council and Regional Division Committees, including a transition planning, the rerun of IFLA Regional Advocacy Priorities Survey and a brief overview of IFLA nominations results till date. Finally, an update on SDG and Internet Governance work was shared and discussed.
