资源简介:

This data set includes two excerpts from transcribed participant observations and two transcribed interview excerpts. Parts of the participant observation data have been analysed with Practical Epistemology Analysis (Wickman and Östman, 2002). The observational data comes from a study in a town in Belgium in which a mobility transition is being implemented. In the town, an old bridge located in the town centre is to be replaced with a new and higher one to allow for transportation via the waterways underneath it. Several scenarios are developed which are presented to inhabitants during several public consultations. We show here data from the second and third consultation which we were allowed to film. The first consultation takes place before the scenario is chosen (October 2022) and the purpose is to gain inhabitant's insights into what they see as problematic. For this scenario, we present a conversation which inhabitants Marina, her husband Jasper, and their neighbour Jon have with facilitator Nathalie. They discuss the problems that would come with the new bridge being situated outside of the centre, as one of the scenarios suggests. The second conversation (May 2023) comes from a consultation after this outside-of-town scenario has been chosen. Here, inhabitant Marina discusses with two facilitators her concerns for the outside-of-centre scenario. We present here partly the transcripts of those full conversations and partly the results of the Practical Epistemology Analysis we have conducted. In addition, we provide parts of interview transcripts with town inhabitant Jasper to support the analysis of the first conversation, and with facilitator Luc to support the analysis of the second conversation. We collected all data with the informed consent of participants. The video and audio material we collected has been transcribed verbatim from Dutch and translated into English with the help of DeepL, and checked by a native speaker. All names, including street names and land marks, have been pseudonymised.
