CAVA rails

The CAVA analysis focuses on the County-maintained Road network and the Santa Cruz Branch Rail Line (SCBRL). For each of the climate hazards included each type of transportation infrastructure asset (i.e. bridges, culverts, roadway or railway segments) was assessed based on its unique exposure to that hazard and the role it plays in the transportation system. Within each asset type, this information was used to rank assets based on their overall risk to climate-related hazards. The assets were not compared to each other, nor was the analysis used to make any suggestions of prioritization or relative risk between asset classes, only to analyze which assets within each separate asset class have the highest relative risk.
