Data of an online survey on policy priorities for the European Research Area of researchers in Germany

The DLR Project Management Agency conducted the online survey on the policy priorities for the European Research Area on behalf of the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) as part of its role as EU-Bureau of the BMBF. The online survey was open from September to November 2022 and available in German and English. A total of 1,471 completed questionnaires were collected. The survey was targeted at researchers and research managers working in Germany.
The survey covered the following thematic aspects: Open Science, international and intersectoral mobility of researchers, knowledge valorisation, science and society, cooperation with non-EU partners. Thematic aspects were presented as statements to be rated on a scale of 5 from ‘1 - very important’ to ‘5 - not important’. To guarantee equal attention to every topic, the thematic questions were shuffled.
In addition, the following personal information was collected: country of origin, country of work, age group, gender, position, discipline, type of organization. To comply with data privacy, answers to open questions are not included in the open dataset.
