Data from: Deciphering the nature of the interspecific genomic barrier: multilocus selection against hybrids in a moving hybrid zone

SNP data from a study of a hybrid zone between two grey vole species (Microtus arvalis and Microtus obscurus) on the Russian Plain. The dataset includes samples collected along two environmentally distinct transects spanning the hybrid zone. This datapackage includes two datasets: MicrotusHZ_lipetsk.vcf Dataset of 31 822 SNPs from 57 individuals sampled along 32-km long transect through hybrid zone in Lipetsk Oblast (Russia). MicrotusHZ_vladimir.vcf Dataset of 43,280 SNPs from 124 individuals sampled along a 184-km transect across a hybrid zone in Vladimir Oblast (Russia). The dataset also includes samples collected outside the hybrid zone: one male M. arvalis individual from Chernogolovka (Central Russia, Moscow Oblast, approximately 200 km west of the hybrid zone), two 'pure' female M. obscurus individuals from Ulyanovsk Oblast (approximately 460 km east of the hybrid zone), and two F1 hybrid females generated from a laboratory cross between these parentals. Detailed metadata for each sample including sex, collection site, and mitochondrial haplotype are provided in the Supplementary Materials of the associated manuscript.
