Listeria innocua strain Clip11262. This strain is serovar 6a and is used for heterologous expression of Listeria monocytogenes genes. This bacterium lacks the virulence gene regulator, PrfA, that is present in Listeria monocytogenes and is responsible for regulation of many virulence genes in the genome.
