INTEGRATED MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS FOR SUSTAINABLE AUTOMOTIVE MANUFACTURING

Sustainable manufacturing has become a strategic priority for the automotive industry in response to increasingly stringent environmental regulations, rapid technological advancement, and the growing demand for resource-efficient production systems. Although integrated management systems (IMS) have been widely adopted to enhance organizational performance, the integration of measurement management with quality and environmental management remains insufficiently explored in both research and industrial practice. This study develops an Integrated Quality–Environment–Metrology (IQEM) Framework that unifies the requirements of ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015, and ISO 10012 within a comprehensive management system designed to support sustainable automotive manufacturing. The research employs a qualitative case study of UzAuto Austem, complemented by a systematic review of the relevant literature, comparative analysis of international standards, and evaluation of organizational processes. The proposed IQEM Framework integrates quality, environmental, and measurement management into a coherent process-oriented architecture that strengthens process coordination, measurement reliability, risk-based decision-making, and continual improvement. In addition, a set of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) is proposed to evaluate the effectiveness of the integrated management system and facilitate evidence-based managerial decisions. The study contributes to the theory of integrated management systems by positioning measurement management as a strategic component of sustainable manufacturing rather than a supporting technical function. From a practical perspective, the proposed framework provides automotive manufacturers with a structured methodology for improving product quality, environmental performance, operational efficiency, and long-term organizational sustainability
