Phenotypic Characterization of OXA-439, an OXA-163 variant, isolated from uropathogenic Escherichia coli

In vivo antibiogram and MICs calculation of class D beta-lactamase OXA-439 identificated in a uropathogenic E. coli strain isolated from a urine sample at public hospital in Uruguay. OXA-439 has a single nucleotide mutation in position 369 respect OXA-163 that causes the aminoacid mutation Y123H. H123 in OXA-439 afects betalactams hydrolization efficency and the loss of spectre action in penicilins such as oxaciline. Here we present sequencing, genetic and biochemical analysis of OXA-439.
