Number of MEPs in the European Parliament in 2018, by gender and political group

This statistic presents the share of male and female members of the European Parliament by political group, as of 2019. There were 82 Female MEPs in the the Socialists and Democrats, the largest number of female MEPs when compared to other groups. Overall, there exists a big gender gap among MEPs in the European political parties, which consist of a majority of male MEPs.
