Gender equality situation in families in Japan 2023

According to a survey conducted in 2023 on gender equality in Japan, close to 48 percent of respondents believed that male and female household members were treated equally. However, the share of respondents thinking that male family members are favored was higher than the percentage of survey participants stating that female household members receive preferential treatment.
