Database of the articles used in Impacts of Regenerative Grazing Systems Review

This dataset contains the bibliographic records used for a comprehensive literature review on regenerative grazing (RG), with a focus on its ecological, agronomic, and socio-economic impacts. The database covers key thematic areas including soil properties, soil biota, vegetation dynamics, chemical load, and stakeholder perceptions related to RG systems. The literature was collected through systematic searches in major scientific databases (Web of Science, Scopus, and Google Scholar) using predefined keyword combinations centered on “regenerative grazing” and related management approaches (e.g. adaptive multi-paddock grazing, rotational grazing, holistic planned grazing). The search was limited to peer-reviewed articles published between 1980 and 2025 in English and Hungarian. After removing duplicates, studies were screened based on title, abstract, and full text according to predefined inclusion criteria (relevance to RG systems and at least one investigated thematic domain). Non-relevant studies (e.g. non-grazing systems, purely conceptual papers without empirical basis) were excluded. The final dataset includes 94 publications (excluding the publications about general regenerative grazing) that met all inclusion criteria. These studies form the basis of the qualitative and quantitative synthesis presented in the review, enabling the assessment of temporal trends, geographical distribution, and domain-specific research patterns within regenerative grazing systems.
