This dataset contains raw NMR, PXRD, XPS, ESI mass spectrometry, and photographic data supporting our investigation of the role of atmospheric oxygen and choice of milling assembly (<i>i.e.</i>, the milling jar and ball materials) on a prototypical medicinal mechanochemistry reaction: the copper-catalysed coupling of isocyanate and sulfonamide to form the sulfonylurea Tolbutamide. In addition to this data, images of the atmospherically sealed milling jars and SolidWorks files used in their manufacture is included along with a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet organizing the reactions run, amounts of reagents used, and yields measured.
