Investigating the bacterial skin communities of amphibians in Central California

290 amphibian skin microbiome samples were collected from central and northern California during the summer of 2010. These samples span 5 species including; Bufo boreas, Pseudacris regilla, Lithobates catesbeianus, Taricha torosa, and Rana Cascadae. Samples were collected to look for species specific and/or location specific patterns of co-habiting amphibians in central California. Separately Rana Cascadae was sampled to look for larger scale geographic variation in skin microbes in addition to samples across life stages of this species to assess microbial community associations with age.
