Bell's Sparrows are a resident species found in chaparral and arid scrub habitat from northwestern to Southern California and into Baja California. The federally threatened subspecies A. b. Clementeae is endemic to San Clemente Island. Sampling for this BioProject includes samples from across the California distribution, includes all three subspecies, and samples of the congeneric Sagebrush Sparrow from the contact zone.. These data have been produced as part of the CCGP. Sequencing was conducted with HiFi Pacific Biosciences long reads at UCDavis Genome Core, Dovetail's OmniC libraries, and Illumina sequencing at UCBerkeley QB3 Genomics Core.
