Rabid Ruin (AZ AA:12:46(ASM), located on the geomorphic floodplain of the Santa Cruz
River in North Tucson, Arizona, represents an extensive Hohokam Classic period (A.D. 1150-
1350) village. Samples from a plastered-floor pithouse were examined for pollen and organic
residues, the latter using the FTIR. Pollen analyses will be used to provide subsistence
information concerning plant resources utilized by the various occupants of this site. FTIR
analyses will be used to provide information concerning foods processed in the structure or
thermal features within the structure.
