Fungal metagenome of Fagus grandifolia litter affected by beech leaf disease.

Beech leaf disease (BLD) is a rapidly emerging forest disease affecting American beech. The fungal communities associated with decaying American beech leaves were assessed with a field-based litterbag experiment. The fungal taxa were compared between leaf litter that was either symptomatic or asymptomatic for BLD.
