Data from a Construction Integrated Recording at Ellesborough Road, Wendover Green Tunnel, Wendover, Buckinghamshire, 2022-2023 (HS2 Phase One)

This collection comprises images, site records, text, spreadsheets, and GIS data from a construction integrated recording (CIR) at Ellesborough Road, Wendover Green Tunnel, Wendover, Buckinghamshire. This work was undertaken by INFRA Archaeology as part of the High Speed 2 (HS2) infrastructure project between July 2022 and December 2023. Survival of archaeological features was limited due to the demolition of 20th century housing and the associated impact on the archaeological record. There was no evidence of features dated to the Prehistoric or Roman period. The CIR area uncovered features representing activity pertaining to the medieval period. The majority of the features represented pits and post holes. A few shallow ditches and abraded medieval and post-medieval artefacts were found residually within the made-ground and modern deposits.
