Rare plant research

This is continuation of ongoing long-term demography monitoring and recovery research for a suite of rare plants of Santa Cruz Island. We will update field surveys and mapping, record annual demographic data, and conduct experimental research for population recovery. Research will be field-based, including out planting, pollination observations and manipulations, tissue sampling for genetic analyses, invasive plant control, and seed collection for banking at the Santa Barbara Botanic Garden. This work has been reviewed and approved by the Channel Islands National Park, The Nature Conservancy; I hold a US Fish and Wildlife Threatened and Endangered Species Recovery Research permit covering these activities.
