A Comprehensive Energy Demand and Renewable Supply dataset for Pacific Islands

Reliable current and future energy demand and renewable supply datasets are essential for quantifying energy transition pathways to limit global temperature rise from anthropogenic activities. To address the persistent energy data scarcity across 14 Pacific Island countries, we developed a comprehensive dataset that presents existing electricity generation capacities, projected energy demand for power, heat, and transport sectors, and offshore renewable energy potentials from wave and offshore wind resources. In addition, the dataset includes biomass resource potentials derived from agricultural residues, forestry resources, and biogas production. Our dataset can serve as key inputs for energy system analysis and promote robust energy planning of these islands.
