资源简介:
A color postcard of the Mission Play entitled, "La Senora Dance, Second Act," San Gabriel, California, USA, circa 1920s. Published by Pacific Novelty Company, San Francisco and Los Angeles, California, USA. Four couples stand across the center, with the women at the left of the men. All have one foot slightly at the front of the other, the left hand at the hip, and the right in the air. The women wear colorful dresses and the men ornate vests, pantaloons, and yellow hose. A large crowd looks on across the back; some of the people sit while others stand. Among the group are American Indians, Franciscan priests, and people in Spanish outfits. One man in Spanish attire sits at the left with a guitar in his hands. The set across the background consists of an arched portico with a red tile roof, trees, and a church at the right. The title of the image is at the top left while at the right is "MISSION PLAY, SAN GABRIEL, CAL.," all in black ink. On the center of the back is the name, location, and logo of the Pacific Novelty Company. At the top right is a square box for postage. The artifact was found within an envelope, which is item .1, along with more postcards that are items .2-.5 and .7-.11. The object is in good condition with only minor abrasions at the corners.
