The aim of the aeromagnetic surveys in the Ross Sea and North Victoria Land
are:
a) to develop a model on the break-up of this part of Gondwana
b) to map the ocean-continent boundary
c) to develop an idea about the evolution of the area since the break-up of
Gondwana
d) to map the structures of the Transatlantic Mountains.
The data were sampled every 10 s, corresponding to 500 m distance.
The following instrument was used: PPM Geometics G 811.
The geographical coverage is as follows:
about 17000 km of aeromagnetic data have been collected in the Ross Sea and
North Victoria Land, Antarctica.
Data are available on request, but with special arrangement.
