This feature class represents the smallest geographic unit located in development centers as defined by the Fairfax County Comprehensive Plan. The Comprehensive Plan text refers to these areas as land units, sub-units, districts, subareas, sub-blocks, and suburban neighborhoods, depending on what section of the Plan they are located. For the purpose of this feature class and metadata, these areas are referred to generically as a geographic unit.
