Data and codes for vegetation-based fire risk forecast

This dataset intends to provide the clarity for the readers on using vegetation dynamics in a fire risk forecast framework. The dataset relates to Vegetation Optical Depth (a merged output from three satellite retreived products), Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (publicly accessible data product from Terra - Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer as MOD13C1 Version6.1), and Forest Fire Danger Index (purchased from the Australian Bureau of Meteorology). Additional data on Koppen climate classification (publicly accessible on the Australian Bureau of Meteorology, (BoM, http://www.bom.gov.au/)) are provided to demonstrate the application aspects of the study. The study focuses on a fire risk forecast framework and the major processing steps of the given datasets are also provided. , Dataset relates to Vegetation Optical Depth (a merged output from three satellite retreived products), Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (publicly accessible data product from Terra - Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer as MOD13C1 Version6.1), and Forest Fire Danger Index (purchased from the Australian Bureau of Meteorology).
