Underlying mechanism of pyriproxyfen in mosquito sterilization

Aedes aegypti mosquito is a potential vector of several infectious diseases. Few studies show that Insect juvenile hormone analog, pyriproxyfen has an effect in adult female mosquito sterilization. However, the underlying mechanism was not comprehensively studied. To gain this understanding, here, we have performed RNA-seq of both fat body and ovaries of control mosquito and pyriproxyfen treated one to explore the differential expression of genes that provides the molecular targets affected by pyriproxyfen and sheds light on the underlying mechanism of pyriproxyfen action in adult female mosquito sterilization.
