The 3D CSAT sonic anemometer acquiring data for the sensible heat flux estimation, is located at the Col du Lac Blanc observational site in the Grandes Rousses massif, in the vicinity of the Alpe d'Huez ski resort in the French Alps (https://glacioclim.osug.fr/Site-du-Col-du-Lac-Blanc-Grandes-Rousses ; http://globalcryospherewatch.org/cryonet/sitepage.php?surveyid=116). The sonic anemometer is mounted on a wind mast at the Col subsite, at 3.92 m above the surface (snow free ground). With an acquisition frequency of 20Hz, the Eddy-Pro processing is applied to 10-minute samples in order to calculate the statistical moments of order 0 to 2. Thus the sensible heat and momentum fluxes, but also the air stability are available in the data files. A data quality flag is associated to each flux. Other data acquired at the Col du Lac Blanc site include several components of the surface energy balance above snow, notably radiation ; they also include a unique device to estimate snow transport fluxes.
