Value of imported dairy products in Italy 2014-2019, by macro-region

In 2019, Western Europe accounted for 85.6 percent of the total value of dairy products imported into Italy. According to the data provided by Prometeia, this was a slight decrease compared to 2014, when western European countries made up 86.8 percent of the total value of dairy products imports. As a matter of fact, in 2019, the only other significant macro-region importing milk products to Italy was constituted by the new EU countries, which accounted for 14.3 percent of the total import of milk products into Italy.
