Sequencing of ex vivo testicular boar transcriptome in response to non-canonical estrogen receptor activity modulation

The aim of this study was to investigate the molecular processes regulated by PPAR-alpha, PPAR-gamma and GPER in the immature boar testis after their pharmacological ligand treatment. Testes were cut into small pieces (approximately 2 mm) and were placed on top of the agarose pillars, and treated with: selective PPAR-alpha antagonist [GW6471], PPAR-gamma antagonist [T0070907], Missouri, USA) or GPER receptor antagonist [G-15]. The concentration of chemicals used was chosen based on preliminary experiments and previous studies (Gorowska-Wojtowicz et al., 2018; Pawlicki et al., 2019; Kotula-Balak et al., 2020).
