In this study, we used extensive 454 pyrosequencing of the V1-V3 regions of the 16S rRNA gene to simultaneously explore the PA and FL bacterial communities. Then, the following 3 questions were examined: (1) Are attached bacterial communities in Meiliang Bay, Lake Taihu distinct from the free-living ones? (2) Do PA and FL bacterial communities vary seasonally? (3) Which are the main environmental factors that structured the dynamics of PA and FL bacterial composition?
