Long-term treatment with bortezomib induces specific methylation changes in differentiated neuronal cells

Genome-wide patterns of DNA methylation were quantified using the Illumina Infinium HumanMethylationEPIC BeadChip in DNA samples extracted from LUHMES cell line cells repeatedly treated with bortezomib (BTZ). This dataset includes 6 samples of DNA extracted from LUHMES cell line cells treated with BTZ (at two timepoints) and 6 samples of DNA extracted from non-treated LUHMES cell line cells (controls at two timepoints). The BTZ treatment was conducted in two cycles. In one treatment cycle, dLUHMES cells were incubated four times (on the day 1st, 4th, 8th, and 11th) with medium containing 0.15nM of BTZ (Cell Signalling Technology, Danvers, MA, USA) for 24h. The medium was replaced to BTZ-free medium between each treatment. After the first treatment cycle, cells were cultured for another 10 days in BTZ-free medium, and then the BTZ treatment cycle was repeated. After each cycle, referred to as time-point 1 and time-point 2, the cells treated with BTZ, as well as non-treated controls, were harvested for DNA extraction.
