VPRS 3918 Railway Line Construction Files

This series comprises railway line construction files raised by the Railway Construction Branch and the Railway Construction Board. The files contain all construction information on completed and proposed railway lines in Victoria.For each railway line different files may include: contract file, general file, tender file, miscellaneous file, electrification file, culverts and drainage file, bridges file, land requirements file and progress report file.Each file has an annual single number registration of the same sequence as VPRS 425, Railway Construction Board Inward Correspondence and, as such, the files are controlled by VPRS 427 and VPRS 429. Prior to the 1940's all construction files can be located in VPRS 425. During the 1940's selected construction files, while registered in the same sequence as VPRS 425 were filed separately - all files relating to a railway line were grouped together regardless of number sequence; groups were not arranged alphabetically.
