Argumentacja Jaegwona Kima przeciwko nieredukcyjnemu fizykalizmowi i jej krytyka

The aim of the paper is to present Jaegwen Kim’s arguments against nonreductive physicalism. The Korean-American scientist was against the nonreductive consensus, presenting against it his argument that is meant to refute mental causation. First, I briefly outline what nonreductive physicalism is, and then I present the four principles of Kim that he uses in his argument, which ultimately become the cause of critique of his theory, which I present in the final section of the paper. Kim’s argument turns out to be flawed, but it should be borne in mind that the mind-body issue is a special kind of problem for which humanity may not be able to find a solution due to man’s limited cognitive abilities.
