In review October 20, 2025 (v1) Dataset Open Thirty-minute time series of observed fluxes and scalars from the Canopy Horizontal Array Turbulence Study (CHATS) field project for land surface model evaluation
收藏资源简介:
The Canopy Horizontal Array Turbulence Study (CHATS) field projecttook place in a California walnut orchard from mid-March to mid-June2007 (https://doi.org/10.26023/P4JW-9T0T-QG0S). For the 30-min dataset provided here, we extracted a subset of the full CHATS data into30-min time series with a focus on the above-canopy and below-canopysensible and latent heat flux, friction velocity, wind speed anddirection, and scalars (air temperature and humidity). These 30-minCHATS data are part of a study that evaluates the CLM-ml land-surfacemodel (Bonan et al. 2025, "Beyond surface fluxes: Observational andcomputational needs of multilayer canopy models--a walnut orchard testcase." Agricultural and Forest Meteorology, Accepted, DOI informationto be added when available)). In all, 151 variables are includedwithin the 30-min data set as described in the Additional Detailsdocument (README_CHATS_30min_data.pdf) as well as in Bonan etal. (2025).
