Growth Performance, Flesh Quality and Muscle Metabolome of a dmrt1-edited Chinese Tongue Sole (<i>Cynoglossus semilaevis</i>)

Chinese tongue sole (Cynoglossus semilaevis) is an important marine aquaculture species that exhibits pronounced female-biased sexual size dimorphism. By turning off the male-determing gene, dmrt1, that normally makes males grow slowly, the edited fish grew as large as females and were completely unable to reproduce. To investigate the impact of dmrt1 knockout on metabolic profiles, we performed non-targeted metabolomics analysis on muscles of dmrt1 mutants and wild type Chinese tongue soles.
