DNA extracted from 15 residual CSF and pleural fluid samples, which were positive by serology tests (immunodiffusion & complement fixation), were tested by Coccidioides duplex real-time PCR assay. Of these samples, only two were positive for C. posadasii DNA by real-time PCR, suggesting a possible low correlation with the serology tests. (XLSX)
