The bacterial strain Citrobacter sp. was isolated from 2,4,6-trinitrotoluene (TNT)-contaminated soil in Taiwan, and has been used to TNT removal. However, its major regulation mechanism of TNT biodegradation poorly understood. We investigated the transcriptomic and proteomic responses of Citrobacter sp. to TNT by comparing profiles at 0 h and 12 h of timing points, to understand how Citrobacter sp. survive and transformation under TNT stress.
