Flood and Coastal Erosion Risk Management 24-25

Wales: Flood and Coastal Erosion Risk Management Capital Investment 2024-25 In March 2024, the Minister for Climate Change agreed the schemes which would make up the 2024-25 Flood and Coastal Erosion Risk Management Programme. These schemes led by Local Authorities and Natural Resources Wales aim to reduce the risk from flooding and/or coastal erosion to homes across Wales. This map shows the approximate locations of the schemes where funding has been allocated for the 2024-25 financial year. Data Quality The information contained within this map has been provided by the Local Authorities and NRW who are responsible for delivering these schemes. The data shown in this map is accurate as of the 12 March 2024 and could have been subject to change after this date. Whilst this funding has been allocated for these schemes, it is for the relevant Risk Management Authority (Local Authorities and Natural Resources Wales) to progress and deliver these scheme. Funding to progress to construction is subject to completion and agreement of an appropriate business case and obtaining relevant permissions and consents. Costs remain estimates until the work has been tendered. Minimum scale set as 1:100,000 in map. This is due to the approximate location information given by RMAs. --- Natural Flood Management Accelerator programme The two-year NFM Accelerator programme follows a Programme for Government commitment to deliver nature-based flood management solutions across all major river catchments. The programme will help Risk Management Authorities work together with Welsh farmers, landowners and third sector organisations on nature-based solutions that reduce flood risk.
