A) Depiction of procedure for Experiment 3. Observers viewed two seconds of smooth motion, followed by a blank inter-stimulus-interval (ISI), after which two adjacent probes were presented that contained waveforms either aligned or misaligned with the previously visible central test waveform. Observers indicated if the probe waveforms were aligned or misaligned with the remembered test waveform.
